Fairground Terms of Use

House Rules from the Kettle Bench

A quick, plain-spoken agreement between you and our showcase — what the site is for, how our small-batch candies behave, and what to expect when you ask for a keepsake tin.

Revised July 2026

What This Site Is For

This website is the official brand showcase and heritage catalog of Copper Kettle Confections. It presents our harvest candies, our fair-season history, and our hand-packed keepsake gift tins. Reading it costs nothing and commits you to nothing — it exists so you can get to know the kettle before you visit, write, or order a tin through the counter.

Small-Batch Honesty

  • Two batches are never identical. Size, shade, snap and sand-sugar finish will vary from kettle to kettle — that is the signature of hand-poured candy, not a defect.
  • Batch tags are numbered and initialed by whoever stirred that kettle; neighboring numbers may taste subtly different within the same family.
  • Seasonal pours (cider rings in autumn, honeycomb in August) rotate with the harvest and may rest between fair weekends.

Gift Tins and Keepsakes

Tin selections built here are a planning guide, not a receipt. When you visit or write, our kettle bench confirms tin, flavor families, card wording and packing date in person. Keepsake tins are packed by hand; tissue, ribbon and tag placement will differ charmingly from tin to tin.

Fair-Season Conduct

During Jo Daviess fair week and the Iowa swing, counter hours stretch, lines form, and patience is currency. We pack in the order requests are received; fair-weekend pickups are held until the following Tuesday if the fair runs long.

Intellectual Property

The Copper Kettle name, the kettle-and-leaf badge, batch ledger artwork, and every illustration on this site are the property of Copper Kettle Confections. You are welcome to share links to our pages and quote a line or two with attribution — reprinting whole pages, tins designs or artwork is a no.

Acceptable Use

Please do not scrape, mirror, frame, or mass-download this site, and do not use it to impersonate our confectionery or pass off other candies as ours. Automated mischief against the site is unwelcome and will be blocked at the gate.

No Warranties, No Surprises

We stand behind every tin we pack, but this site is provided “as is.” Flavor notes and pairing suggestions are loving suggestions from the bench, not professional nutrition, medical, or dietary guidance — for that, talk with your own physician or dietitian.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, Copper Kettle Confections is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this site, including missed fair-weekend pickups or melted honeycomb left in a hot mailbox.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, with venue in Jo Daviess County. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stands — like a good maple leaf in its tin.
